MONCLOA SUBWAY STATION

Alcantara Stone™ has contributed in this great project of Madrid Community, bringing its esclusive stone products such as the Alcantara Black for use on stairs, platform edges, skirtings and floors. The most striking natural beauty provided by these materials, is the impressive technical features, due to the heavy use  which the material  are subjected in this emblematic station.

Alcantara Stone™ has participated at the remodeling of line 3, providing its exclusive materials for this emblematic project, which  was opened in 1936 with a distance of 1.4 km. which in 1963 grew until, 6.2 Km. With 11 new stations between Moncloa and Legazpi. Madrid has one of the best  transport means in the world, with the second largest subway network in Europe -2.4 million passengers per day. Precisely for the very intensive use, all the materials used in these types of facilities, and above all the passable, must comply with strict rules and physical-mechanical features, to ensure a time of great durability, while retaining their magnificent aesthetic qualities.

 

In the course of several months have made a considerable effort from all organizations involved in this project to refurbish and modernize these stations, following the guidelines of usability, design and unification, marked by Metro de Madrid and  Mintra.

 

The work in the yellow line (line 3) has an estimated investment of 319 million of Euros  financed by the  Madrid Community and Madrid Town Hall.

Pieces of Alcantara Black® and Alcantara Iridium® with polish and flamed finish as description and work requirements:

 

  +    721.75 Ft. of sidewalk edge in pieces of 80x40x6 cm. with double slip band made in AK.

  + 2,214.60 Ft. of staircase of 6 cm. thick with slip band made in AK.

  + 1,800.00 Sqft.  paved floor of 60x40x3 cm made in AK.

  +        1 Ud. de entrances in AK and  AI flamed

  +        1 Ud. of access temples made of AK

    TODO -- Following the CAD designs (see draws below), our expert handcraft men did this work to manufacture an awesome footprints for this ladders.

    For this challenge, Alcantara Stone™ structure its manufacturing from start to finish, because through our own quarries and factories we can close the entire production cycle, leaving no productive element at random. This design is complemented by a large industrial and quality control, consisting of the latest technology for the extraction and processing of our materials and a great team with years of professional experience in the sector.
